Why this portfolio works

Immigrant and refugee communities face enforcement, uncertain legal status, and fear that keeps people from services and civic life they're often entitled to. Defending them takes legal, generational, and civic work at once.

The organizations here split that defense into distinct roles: family accompaniment through detention, youth-led organizing and policy advocacy, impact litigation and direct legal representation, statewide organizing and citizenship navigation, and due process defense for detained people. Each has a track record of real outcomes, and each was chosen over other organizations doing similar work for how well it reinforces the rest. Together, they cover more of what immigrant communities actually face than any one organization could alone.
