Why this portfolio works
Across the country, the freedom to vote is under pressure, and it's under pressure in more than one place at once. Protecting it takes legal defense, voter turnout, and community organizing working together, not any one of those alone.
The organizations here split that work into distinct roles: ballot-access defense, turnout among voters other programs miss, and on-the-ground organizing in the communities most affected. Each has a track record of results, not just activity, and each was chosen over other qualified organizations for how well its work reinforces the rest. No single one of them could protect the vote alone. Together, they cover the system.
